Dr. Katja Terlau studied art history, history, archaeology, and prehistory and early history in Münster and Cologne (Magister 1995; PhD 1998 at the University of Cologne).
Since 1999 she has worked as a freelance provenance researcher on research projects and consulting related to Nazi-looted art for public institutions, private collections, and the media.
Since 2015 she has also been a lecturer at the University of Cologne, Institute of Art History, in the field of art market studies with a focus on provenance research.
